Fuck these tampa coaches

Do the falcons not want me to be a fan?

Don't see it as anything more than due diligence, not like they haven't or aren't interviewing like 8 different names already.

Image
Pink_Skink

They are doing their due diligence. They had interviewed Bowles back when DQ was hired and the rumor was that he was their 2nd favorite. I appreciate them being thorough because at least commitment and a true desire to find the right fit

Power Team HC: Todd Bowles

Gotta have Bill O Brien as the GM...

Tampa Bay has had some terrible defensively coached games this year. Literally called the exact defense that pat mahomes thrives against

If we hire Bowles I will probably laugh and then drive off a suspension bridge

I have a hard time understanding this. I see others feel the same way. What is the logic here? Wasn't his time with the Jets an unmitigated disaster?

Image
SuperEagle1

Gase being an absolute dumpster fire with the jets has made some people remember Bowles as being better than he actually was.

Gotta satisfy that Rooney Rule.

I switched from coffee to liquor while reading this, and it's not even 11am yet!!

No more having to pay for flight, hotel, lunch, etc. You want an interview? Sure, I got an hour to kill, let me find my pants and let's zoom.

You wear pants to zoom meetings?

It’s so hard to be a Falcons fan.

It really f'n is...

Still casting a wide net, I see. I suppose that is a product of doing all of these interviews virtually. There is no cost aside from the time invested, and there is value in talking to as many candidates as possible, even if it's just a self-scouting exercise.

Daboll, Brady, Smith, and then a risk/reward swing on Bienemy in that order. Anything else is probably going to be some retread, run of the mill bullshit that has plagued us since Shanahan left. I became a fan in 2009 at the age of 13 and have watched this franchise’s management ruin the legacies of our two foremost franchise greats, both definitively HoF caliber players, and both my favorite NFL players to date. Pretty much exclusively through bad staffing and staffing complacency. Mike Smith was mediocre and clearly wasn’t going to outcoach good coaches. Quinn blew a SB and literally did nothing beyond get his players to like him. He also refused to hire LaFleur as OC because he “didn’t like the way he prepared”, when Quinn was the least prepared coach literally every fucking week. I am incredibly loyal to the Falcons, but enough may be enough if we bungle this off-season as much as we possibly could.

Please dear Jesus no. I mean this from the bottom of my heart... hell no.

Image
Oliumzen

Why aren't they hiring a GM first and letting g him be part of the process?

Image

Checking the box, that's all this is. Hoping for Fontenot GM and Daboll or Brady for HC, Offensive minded coach and find a DC that can get the most out the players that are on the D. Gotta find a good OL coach!!!!!!!

Image

Really hope they don't go with him. Of the nfl guys bienemy would be my preference.

Image
mountaineer30680

Me too. The problem is that he's a lot of folks fave. San Diego is a better landing spot than us, I think, but we're probably 2nd in the NFL openings. Of course you never know how an incoming HC might value the players for the system he likes to use.

"Hey Todd, so in as much detail as possible how did you game plan against our offense and what weaknesses did you try exploit. Also what current problems do you see in Tampa? Cheers kthnxbye"

Image
zombieassasin122

Falcon as a jets fan dont hire todd bowles if you want to keep choking he has good defensive minded coach but he sucked at everything else.

Image
Justifier3200

I wouldn't mind him as a DC but please not a head coach

Image
atl1057

Don’t think he is a good fit for the team but he does have a solid coaching background (outside of jets ) as well as having a solid playing career . He’s been though almost 3 decades of coaching in the pro level
