Hello everyone! I know the last update wasn't the best, but this one is incredible. He's now two months old, and 2 pounds 2.2 ounces. He hasn't had a single Brady episode since last week, and has moved on to formula. He gains about 20 grams or more per night as well.
Thank you for doing these updates. We're all rooting for you.
I've been where you are man, my daughter had a rough start to say the least, long time in the NICU. Sending all the love possible your way. Stay with the positivity, you absolutely rock. Your son kicks ass, you kick ass. Take care of yourself. This can be unbelievably overwhelming, as I'm sure you are abundantly aware. If you ever feel like venting, feel free to shoot me a message.
Go with the injection! My daughter had the same, got the injections and although the doctors are still monitoring and she still has stigmas, she doesn't seem to have any issues with her sight and they're still holding off on glasses for now.
Thank you for these updates! Glad to see he keeps improving!
rock and roll!
Thank you for this! I love him so much and these updates are a bright spot in my week!!
Awesome. How early was he born? My son was born at 27 weeks.
Hello! The full story is in my post history, but the TLDR version is that he was born at 25 weeks and 5 days, but he was growth restricted and was small for that age. He was only 14.4 ounces when born.
Oh hey, it’s Thursday already :) I love seeing updates about this little guy, so glad he had a good week. Thinking positive thoughts for y’all!
Just getting up to speed on your story but just wanted to say congrats to you dad (and mom) and to let you know your boy has one more person in his corner. Go get it big guy!!!
Ohio checking in again! Glad you all are well. I work in the field of Visual Impairments. Your son can lead a FULL life with ROP.
Keep on keeping on!
These posts bring me to tears every time. I'm so, so happy for you all. It's wonderful to see him grow. God be with you ❤ Thank you for sharing!!
Yes! Thanks for the update. I've heard ROP treatment remarkably effective.
Every time you post I get a little more hope for all those fighting against the odds. Never give up little hero ❤️🙏🙌
Congratulations and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. My son had a rough birth too and ended up in the nursery. In two days he will be six months old and the whole emotional hospital stay already feels like a distant memory, time really does fly with kids. The birth experience is a wild ride, nothing like what anyone expects after seeing it going so smoothly in movies and TV shows. I am happy that your little guy is already doing better!
Glad he is doing okay! We all rooting for him!
My heart leaps with joy whenever I see these updates! So thrilled it was a great week for you and your little one. Y’all are superheroes (as are the amazing hospital staff helping you!)
So glad to see!!
You go buddy!
Woo, go little Lonogg!
Ahh! He's getting so big!
He's looking so big and strong and pink! I'm so happy he's doing better.
Hang in there, Dad. Your boy is a fighter.
Glad your little one is keeping up. Thanks for sharing and o hope your taking some time to yourself in all this. Sending love your way, my dude!
Thanks for another update! Keep em coming! What a difference every week makes.
Awwwl baby boy is kicking ass! Such a strong little dude! I love and look forward to these updates! You and mom make sure to take time to take care of yourselves as well! God Bless!!!
My twin girls were born at 33 weeks. Baby A stayed in the hospital for exactly 3 weeks, and Baby B stayed for almost a month and a half. Gosh, I hated it so much. I hope your little man keeps fighting the good fight, dude. I know it sucks having to see your baby in the NICU every day, or when you have time, or when you want to make time. It’s very draining, but as a parent, you try your best to show up everyday even if it’s for 30 mins. Godspeed, lil man. He’ll be home in no time!
Such a great update, he’s still adorable. Are you thinking he’s going to have red hair?
Keep on kicking ass little dude!
Rooting for you and your little man!
Wishing you guys all the best. I’m sure there will be many more miracles to come.
Keep on persevering little dude! Keep fighting the good fight! It's worth it.
I've never rooted so hard for complete strangers on the internet. Every update brings me to tears. You two are incredible parents and he is one incredible kid. Wishing you all the best.
Man, that little dude of yours is growing strong! I remember one of your last updates where I thought, damn, that's one tiny little human, and now he looks like he easily could be a normal sized baby already. Might be due to the lack of comparable items in the photo (a banana for scale), but he also got over looking like the preemie that he was, looks like a normal newborn now, like he was just delivered. He's a real fighter! You all are! I'm rooting for you all!
This was the first post I saw of yours. Went and looked at them all. You're little dude is definitely a fighter. I hope everything keeps on the up and up. Good luck with everything! He's got this.
I’ve been following you for a few weeks now and just wanted to let you know that I’m rooting for you and your family everyday! Your baby boy is strong and so are you ❤️❤️❤️
Side note: his arms were wrapped cos he came out swinging....nice work little fella!
Your little guy is in my prayers, 17 year old dad here. My son is almost a year old, I'm sure he'll kick ass and be just fine.
You must be so proud that someone so tiny can be so strong. I was going to say he’ll grow up to be something great - but he’s achieved so much so quickly, he doesn’t need to grow up to be the great he already is!
I am so happy to have read this update. This little guy fights so hard - what a champ. You guys are going through an incredibly stressful time - hardly time to draw a breath with how much is going on. I wish I could do anything to help you both as parents too - because you deserve as much help as possible
He's so precious! And you are absolutelykickass at being a parent of a preemie! You just have to have faith that the dr's and nurses caring for him know what they're doing and know how to keep him breathing! May I ask though, as a 6-week early preemie myself and three of my five babies came early, how early was he born? Regardless though, he's a fighter!
From the pictures you posted a month ago of him, he really has grown! What a trooper!
Did you get to hold this little fighter?
He's looking absolutely amazing - so strong and healthy. I looked back on the first pic you posted of him, and it's absolutely night and day.
How does he like that arm binding? My daughter absolutely hated any and all kinds of restraint and would constantly fight against the wrist restraints they used.
(Op’s wife here) He really likes them although they can make his temp rise so I prefer not to use them too often. He also likes both hands to hug his head so he does well without the wrap too!
Stay strong little guy!
Bless you and your family. All will be good.
Wow, he has gotten so big! Seeing him grow makes me so happy each week :D
Keep kicking ass, little dude! Keep hanging in there, dad! You’re both doing great!
He looks very big and different compared to last week
He looks so sweet! I had mine at 30 weeks so he was in the NICU for 45 days. He’s 7 now. So happy he’s doing better! Be prepared for eye visits and RSV vaccines!
