OP, I just found and am now avidly following your story. My son was in the NICU from day 2-32 of life, and in the hospital in general MANY times in his short 2.5 years, but not for being premature. He was full term, only five days early. Still, his condition was very severe and everything moved so quickly. One minute we’re laughing and giddy from finally being in labor and the next every blood vessel in my face had ruptured from crying so hard. That first week was literally gut wrenching.
I was just telling my wife about your post, and it's almost exactly how we are. My wife and I can speak the lingo now and know what his numbers mean at any given time. We've even gotten pretty good at reading the ventilator settings.
My son spent his first two months in the NICU. I couldn’t put it better.
Thank you for sharing these kind words. I’m sorry for your loss. Would you mind sharing what your son’s condition was?
Hello once again! My son is officially 1 month old today. He's all the way up to 1 pound and 5.5 ounces and getting food 24/7 to get even bigger.
This is great to hear! Some good friends of ours just had their preemie graduate from NICU after 50 days and is so beautiful and healthy. Your little guy will be home before you know it!
He, and you, are doing fucking awesome dad! Keep it up!
I once again dedicate this evening's grass mowing to you, fellow Dad. Thrilled to get this update!
Hang in there! You guys can do it.
I love the art work you did for your little guy and the care and loyalty you have for him you sound like a awesome parent.
You got this kiddo! Better freshen up those new balance dad.
This is awesome to hear. Nothing like starting my friday on a good note. Happy 1 month!
That's very encouraging news!!! Stay in this fight with your little man, he needs both his parents through this! In a year or so, you'll look back at this and you'll appreciate that he's throwing his toys all over the floor and flinging his spaghetti everywhere.
I’m a lurking mom but just wanted to say that his little crown brightened my day! So glad to hear he’s doing so well 💕
As another lurking mom, I gladly look forward to the Thursday updates!
He’s sprouting up like a tree.
Ran into an old mate who had two preemies no bigger than your palm. Happy to report there are owning their teens and making Dad very tired now ;-)
Keep up the good work little man.
What an absolute king, glad he's doing well. Always remember Tyson Fury was 1lb and 3 month's premature and now he's 6ft 9inches and heavy weight champion of the world!!
Congratulations mom and dad !
Little guy is growing! Stay strong
Can’t wait for the one year update!
Thank you for the updates! We're in lockdown in my city and happy news is a bit scarce of late. So nice to see his progress over the weeks. #gainz

He’s a champ! Congratulations!
Hell yeah, that's awesome. Best of luck to all three of you!
He's earned that crown, what a strong little guy! Man, news like this even about a complete strangers child sure puts a huge smile on my face. Much love to the whole family!

I wish I could be as tough as this little one. Dictionary definition of perseverance right here.
Keep it up, little guy. And dad, make sure to keep updating us on the progress when you have time. Also don't forget to take care of yourself and mama.
Always happy to see these. Thanks for the update! What an awesome little dude.

Family of rockstars you be. Hang in there and make sure to take care of yourself as well.
Great news! Hopefully he has at least 1,000 more strong months ahead.

Incredible! So proud of him!
Each week I look forward to your posts, and each week I sit at my desk and cry.
Happy one month little man! From a NICU graduate sending you all the light and strenght!! ❤️
Keep going little man!!! You’ve got this 💪🏻💪🏻
I was 2 pounds 13.5 oz but also born a long long time ago (just turned 39+1) No party this year due to covid lockdown, so I'm waiting till my half birthday in August to celebrate.) Will go back to normal routines for 41+
He's doing awesome and so are you Mom and Dad! Love following this little guy
I don't know how I missed update 3, but I've been wondering how things have been going.
Wooooohooo. What a champ.
he’s got this!
Was he full term or preterm?
He was born at 25 weeks and 5 days, but he was growth restricted so he was even small for that age. You can check out the full story in my first post about him. It's pretty crazy that he made it.
Badass! Thanks for the update!!!
He's absolutely adorable!
No shame here. I totally saw one of your comments on a different thread and had to check up on your little one congratulations!
I look forward to your weekly updates and hope all is going well this week!
So sorry for forgetting this week! It was busier than normal. This comment was what reminded me though and I got another post out there. He's still doing amazing!
