Is it here? I was under the impression they will install fiber lines if enough people sign up.
Yes yes yes. They need people to show interest. I believe Rathdrum got a jump on us just from massive market interest.
Anyone know if TDS has a monthly cap?
It says no on the link OP provided.
They do not. I called and asked
Dropped Comcast a couple of years ago and don't miss them a bit. We have Century Link fiber for internet, shared Amazon Prime and Disney+ accounts, and a rooftop antennae for local stations. Works great for us.
I did some work on the TDS fiber main internet hub off of Freya. That is up and running. When i talked to them last they are building infrastructure east to west. All they need now is getting fiber on poles in the Area. They were quick getting it in CDA and post falls even though avista made them pay to move spectrum/zipley to a different telephone pole position and pay to have there fiber installed aswell. Good company from the technical side.
Already on the list!
Wondering if anyone is using TDS already. How's the TV service?
Hmm. I can't even find out if they're in my area because it says my address doesn't exist. :(
I hope they come up to South Hill soon. I know you can pre-sign up for their service on the website, they might wait for enough people in the area to do that before they head there.
Woohooo! That's awesome, but please come up to northern Mead/Colbert >_<
Is Ting out here (Valley specifically?) I have heard good things about them, once you swallow the install cost. We are on no contract with Xfinity, but have no problem leaving.
Free install if you put down and $25 deposit and preregister right now.
I wish they'd come to my area.
You should look into Comcast replacing the wires going into your house. A few years ago I was having severe disconnect problems, last resort they replaced wires from the power lines to my house and I haven’t had a single disconnect since, not counting power outages.
Comcast has been rock solid for me. In the past 3 or so years, I've had one outage that impacted my work and it was resolved quickly.
That is not normal. I've used Comcast for 11 years in Spokane and it is rock solid and fast. I wish it was half the price, but can't complain about uptime or speed. Try getting a UPS from anywhere and new modem/router from Costco and see if you still have issues.
It's probably either a bad splitter or bad coax lines or a badly grounded appliance that the coax plugs into
I used to have an issue with Comcast freezing up. When I called to complain they said my modem was so old they no longer supported it (although they would still charge me rent on it if I didn't turn in back in).
