Davenport Towers does a good one but it’s pricey and you have to wear shoes.

That's fine; it's the pants that I find restrictive.

Sonnenberg's Deli, 1528 E. Sprague, sells its own smoked salmon, this might be your best bet.

Wooden city did bagel and lox for a little bit during lock down. They were the best attempt at a bagel I have had in Spokane. All other attempts are just round bread. If you are looking for a chewy crust and soft center but makes your jaw hurt bagel you will be very disappointed in Spokane.

The demise of Wooden City's bagel program was a cruel blow.

The mason jar in Cheney has good lox

As far as bagels go, to my knowledge, only Maple Street bistro actually boils them properly. I’ve never had one there, however. That information is from their website.

Thank you for this info, specifically the detail about boiling. I moved here last fall from the east coast and the bagel situation here is so bad it makes me genuinely sad.

I think The Rocket has fantastic bagels. I’m a complete bagel snob too - I now live in DC for school and I’ve tried dozens of bagel places here + a bunch in New York, and I still think the rocket compares well. I can’t speak to the lox though.

Alls I knows is, ultimate bagel is trash. Their bagels are like a mix between a biscuit and a bagle. It's so dry and so dense. Word on the streets is that the chick from "the scoop" is opening up a bagle joint next to their south hill location.

I'm partial to Ultimate Bagel just because of how much I ate there as an ungergrad, but Grain Shed has a great one from time to time.

Italia trattoria used to have a lovely bagel and lox breakfast/brunch option. It's been a while since I've eaten there though, unfortunately.

Ultimate Bagel by Gonzaga off Sharp. Great place, go there for the smear.
