I love pictures of mountains where you can see many "layers" of ridges in the distance.
NC clouds CANNOT be beat!
Only place I think can really give NC a run for the money would be the Plains. Seeing massive shelf systems build up before unleashing hell really helps me keep a perspective on how small our lives are. Of course, the best kind are lenticular clouds and we have plenty of mountains to help with those!
Is that the trail with the plane crash? Been meaning to check it out. Beautiful pic, BTW!
Yes, go past Water Rock to Browning Knob and the plane crash is there.
unbelievable. never heard of this place but it's on my list now.
Anyone else see the baby face in the upper left corner? Great pic btw.
I totally see the baby face haha!
I don't see Babyface, but if you look closely, there may be in zebra hiding in the trees on the left.
I can kind of see it - but it also looks like a grumpy sea turtle to me
Those colors!!! Great shot op!
Those clouds on the left look like feet. 😁
Tar Heel State!!
That is an exquisite pic!
I lived up there for several years. Been up to this overlook and hiked to the top many times. This post makes me miss it so much more.
Please post the GPS coordinates from your picture. Great shot!
