Can we please stop sneaking around Ohio Stadium with our solo cups like underage teenagers?!
They used to close down Lane from like High down to Neil and that was all open container. I feel like that was something Holbrook got rid of during her tenure.
I remember before Holbrook there was a fenced off section on Lane and they literally didn't care what you did as long as it wasn't trouble. Could carry around a case with you if you wanted. Then they stopped that and in came the $7 8oz beer vendors...
Me after learning this right before moving to Columbus
10/10 DUI attorneys support this effort.
That's why I bought a house in a walkable neighborhood near downtown and keep bus fare by the door. Never had a DUI, don't intend to start but I do love day drinking when the weather is nice.
I take back most of the bad things I have said about the mayor.
This is the type of thing a mayor who wants to get re-elected would do.
Yeah this is actually a great idea. Hope it goes through
We should just have open container in Columbus period
Before you approve it, stretch it up High Street, covering all the bars and restaurants in the short north.
Everything inside 270
Ginther: I have never understood state laws or, frankly, anything, so let's piece our a specific area and see how it goes.
Gunther is just feeling nostalgic. He was walking around High St after lunch this afternoon with his crew and he said, “Man, do you guys remember how lit this place was last year at this time?”
Public transport then a policy like this. If we require Ohioans to drive everywhere then this isn’t a responsible bet. Uber exists but high fees will likely make someone take the risk to drive. 2 craft beers will put you over the 0.08 limit and even then an officer can still arrest u below that if they deem u a safety risk!
Shhh...you're leaking the meeting minutes
A couple years ago I was told boo hoo for lamenting the lack of quality public transportation I to downtown because I wanted to hit the food truck festival and drink but do so safely, but any COTA trip would take about an hour because I'd have to walk 20 minutes to the stop.
How's this any different from the status quo from an ABV perspective? It's not like there isn't plenty of alcohol being sold in and around the stadium already.
This will surely help bring the crime rate down.
Ginther...always on top of major issues of importance!!
would be amazing for buiz
There is only a couple bars/restaurants that serve alcohol in the proposed area. You can't bring your own alcohol to a DORA
More than a couple. Liquor permits are listed
Ginther: Quick, everyone look over here! Drinking in public!!!! Yay BEER!!
